Living Example
$ Still on the subject about Money
$ Aunt A is in her mid-40s
$ Constantly ill, constantly blamed on her 'bad' luck
$ Always wait for someone to bail her out of difficulties
$ It can be as simple as soup from friends/a paid trip to Malaysia
$ To paying her credit cards debts for her when she received lawyers letters
$ She holds 2 part-time jobs. 1 as a clerk by day & the other clinic assistant by night
$ Still $$$ is never enough
$ Borrowed from one to pay another
$ Her 3 children are angry with her, they disrepect her because of her incapacity to handle $$$ when she had them
$ Her husband stopped talking to her as long as 3 years ago
$ Power/Water supply was cut a couple of time because she default payment
$ Now I'm not saying Aunt A is a bad person. She's just bad in managing her $$$ when she had it. She spent generously on colleagues, she's 'not calculative'.
$ But then again, is it her attitude of being 'not calculative' landed her in today's position?
$ Because she has no $$$ to treat her illness, her condition became worse
$ Because she has no $$$ to pay bill, her husband thought she's irresponsible
$ Because she has no $$$ to pay for her children education, they think she's incapable as a mom
$ Mis-managed of funds could have such chain reaction.
$ Aunt A is my living example.
$ I am NOT going to grow old poor & unhappy, blaming on 'bad' luck when things fall apart.
? You might think what about her husband, why can't he help with the family expenses?
? The fact is that she max out all those credit cards he sub for her
? The fact is that he has to pay for what she charged
? The fact is that she crashed his car & he still need to finance the loan
? The fact is that she used up all the $$$ in their joint account w/o him knowing
? The fact is that he got retrenched w/o compensation
! How much can a person take?
! He can only suffer in silence
! His only way of showing his anger was stopped talking to her
: Why did I suddenly talk about Aunt A?
: Well, each time I walked pass old folks trying to sell tissue paper on the street or @ the underpass, I would think to myself, "What did they not do when they were young & have to do this for a living?"
: The image of Aunt A doing that will always pop in my mind.
